Technical Support Note
Product(s) involve : Video Blaster
Third party product(s) : ATI Ultra Plus SVGA card
Subject
No video images (magenta screen) when running VIDEOKIT in 640 x 480 256
colors, 800 x 600 16/256 colors.
Description
User will see magenta screen when running VIDEOKIT even in 640 x 480 256
colors or 800 x 600 16/256 colors resolution. The reason is that ATI Ultra Plus
EEPROM has set the VGA card's Hsync signal to "+" and Vsync signal to "+"
instead of Hsync "-" and Vsync "-".
Solution/Action
The solution is to run the INSTALL program from the MACH32 (or whatever
specified during installation of the ATI drivers) directory and perform the
following procedures:
a. Select SET POWER-UP CONFIGURATION.
b. Choose MONITOR TYPE from the menu.
c. Select your monitor type from the given list and goto step (e).
d. Select "CUSTOM" if your monitor is not in the list.
e. Select the display resolution.
f. Set Hsync polarity to "-".
g. Set Vsync polarity to "-".
h. Repeat steps (e) - (g) for the rest of the resolution.
For more information about customizing the monitor display, please refer to the
ATI Ultra Plus User Guide provided by the vendor.
